Dear Parents,
Words cannot describe how great the kayak trip was! The kids were phenomenal, enjoying being together and celebration God’s creation. Our chaperones were such a positive element to the experience. A GREAT BIG THANK YOU TO: Dr. Briseno, Dr. Andelin, Mr. Svendsen, Mr. Sanger, Mr. Cobena, and Mr. Fisher. An EXTRA THANK YOU to Mr. Fisher who planned meals, bought all the food, and cooked for us all. And, of course, A HUGE THANK YOU to Mr. Bell who helped organize this trip and was a great support and chaperone. His love for outdoor education still impacts us all.
Thank you to Mrs. Steckstor who will be helping to chaperone our service day at the Tri-Parish Food Bank next Monday.

SUMMER VACATION
THE FLIGHT PLAN
LITERATURE: TKAM students in this group are receiving an overview of activities left for the rest of the year.
ROT: This group is reading chapter 7 and finishing workbook by Wednesday. Then onto chapter 8 by Thursday.
RELIGION: There will be a chapter 11 test on Tuesday. Service Logs with 7 hours of service completed are due next Wednesday. A parent signature is needed for the log to be valid. Students will then complete their final service reflection.
SOCIAL STUDIES: Eighth graders are challenged with memorizing the first part of the Gettysburg Address.
MATH: Pre-algebra students were assessed on “Systems of Equations. “ They will begin a mini unit on angles and transversals.
We are LEARNERS. We are FAITHFUL. We are KIND.
Never was a faithful prayer lost. Some prayers have a longer voyage than others, but then they return with their richer lading at last, so that the praying soul is a gainer by waiting for an answer.

8 Science – This week we will be wrapping up our Renewable and Non-Renewable resources presentations, before exploring the final days of 8th grade science such as pH and chemical reactions.

8th-Grade Writing
With end-of-year activities such as talent shows, service projects, and retreats, the 8th graders are showing their flexibility and determination to get the work done and finish their writing class at ICRS strong. After today, we only have 3 classes left!
Today, we took our end-of-the-year grammar test. For the remainder of our time together, we will be presenting our How-To demonstrations, finishing our speeches, and practicing for the Celebration of Excellence.

¡Las palabras no pueden describir lo maravilloso que fue el viaje en kayak! Los estudiantes estuvieron fenomenales, disfrutando de estar juntos y celebrando la creación de Dios. Nuestros acompañantes fueron un elemento muy positivo para esta experiencia. ¡UN ENORME AGRADECIMIENTO A: Dr. Briseño, Dr. Andelin, Sr. Svendsen, Sr. Sanger, Sr. Cobena y Sr. Fisher! Un AGRADECIMIENTO ESPECIAL al Sr. Fisher, quien planificó las comidas, compró toda la comida y cocinó para todos nosotros. PLAN DE VUELO
LITERATURA: Los estudiantes que leen TKAM están recibiendo un resumen de las actividades que quedan para el resto del año.
ROT: Este grupo está leyendo el capítulo 7 y terminará el cuaderno de trabajo para el miércoles. Luego continuarán con el capítulo 8 el jueves.
RELIGIÓN: Habrá un examen del capítulo 11 el martes. Los registros de servicio con 7 horas completadas deben entregarse el próximo miércoles. Se requiere la firma de un padre para que el registro sea válido. Luego los estudiantes completarán su reflexión final sobre el servicio.
ESTUDIOS SOCIALES: Los estudiantes de 8.º grado tienen el desafío de memorizar la primera parte del Discurso de Gettysburg.
MATEMÁTICAS: Los estudiantes de preálgebra fueron evaluados sobre “Sistemas de Ecuaciones”. Comenzarán una miniunidad sobre ángulos y transversales.

Esta semana estaremos concluyendo nuestras presentaciones sobre recursos renovables y no renovables antes de explorar algunos de los temas finales de ciencias de 8.º grado, como el pH y las reacciones químicas.
