The ICRS Parent Resources page is designed to be a central hub for current families to easily access important information, tools, and resources that support your child’s experience at school. Here you will find details about programs, resources, volunteer and fundraising opportunities, important forms, policies, and other helpful information throughout the school year.
At ICRS, we value strong partnerships between school and home. We hope this page serves as a convenient resource to help families stay informed, connected, and engaged in the many opportunities that make our school community thrive. If you have questions or need additional assistance, please don’t hesitate to contact the school office.
Parents can use Finalsite to complete school forms, upload documents, and track your admissions and enrollment progress.
Safety
The safety of our students and staff is our highest priority. At ICRS, we take a comprehensive, proactive approach to campus safety — partnering with experts, training our community, and maintaining secure facilities.
Community Partnerships & Training
ICRS works closely with local law enforcement and Mount Vernon Police Department (MVPD) safety officers to ensure our practices reflect current best standards. Students, staff, and parents are all trained in safety protocols so that our entire community is prepared and informed.
ICRS follows the Standard Response Protocol developed by the “I Love U Guys” Foundation — a nationally recognized framework used by schools across the country to provide clear, consistent responses to campus emergencies.
Secure Campus
Our campus is designed with security in mind:
- The campus is fully fenced with controlled access points
- All exterior doors are locked during the school day
- Security cameras are positioned throughout the campus
- All visitors are required to sign in upon arrival
- Volunteers must comply with the Archdiocese of Seattle’s Safe Environment policies, including background checks and required trainings
Ongoing Safety Drills & Training
ICRS holds monthly safety drills to keep students and staff practiced and confident in emergency procedures. Staff also meet annually with MVPD safety officers for continued training and updates.

REQUIREMENTS FOR VOLUNTEERS
The Archdiocese of Seattle requires that all volunteers working with children in our school participate in a class called “Protecting God’s Children” AND complete a background check before working with children. This includes field trips, recess duty, and in-class work.
If you have already volunteered in the Archdiocese of Seattle, please follow the steps below.
- Go to www.virtusonline.org and log on with your User ID and password.
- Update your background check if prompted
- Click on the “My Training” tab at the top of the page.
- On the My Training screen click the “Online Training” link.
- On the “Online Training” screen click on the “Sex Abuse Re-certification Training for Adults” link, to get to the training.
- A training module popup window will appear. Click on the “Click Here to Start” link to begin your re-certification training.
- Follow the prompts to answer the questions and you will complete your re-certification training. Please allow 30-45 minutes to complete the training.
If you have NEVER volunteered at a church or school in the Archdiocese of Seattle you will need to register for “Protecting God’s Children”, a class for new volunteers in the Archdiocese. You will also need to complete a background check request before volunteering.
- Log in to https://www.virtusonline.org
- Click on “first-time registrant.”
- Choose “Begin the registration process”
- Select “Seattle, WA (Archdiocese)”
- Create a user id and password. Make sure they are unique and memorable, as this will be the account you use anytime you volunteer in a Catholic Church or Catholic School in the Archdiocese of Seattle
- Continue to follow the online directions to complete registration and background check information.

The supply list for each class is posted below. Click your child’s class to find a list of the required supplies. Children who are placed in Algebra will need to check the separate supplies required for that class, which are in addition to their homeroom.

Girls Uniforms
- Plaid jumper, skirt, or plaid skort
- Navy twill or corduroy pants (no flare legs, cut-off jeans or cargo pants)
- Shorts (walking length, no extra pockets)
- White knit shirt with collar or white turtleneck
- Mayfair blue sweater or sweatshirt with ICRS logo
- Navy tights under skirt or jumper white or blue socks
- 7 – 8 grade girls may also choose a blue fleece ICRS vest
Boys Uniforms
- White knit shirt w/collar or white turtleneck shirt
- Navy twill or corduroy pants (no flare legs, cut-off jeans or cargo pants)
- Shorts (walking length, no extra pockets)
- Mayfair blue sweatshirt, sweater or vest with ICRS logo
- White or blue socks
- 7 – 8 grade boys may also wear the blue fleece ICRS vest
Shoes
- Shoes need to be predominantly white, black, navy or brown in color. Closed toes and closed heels with appropriate ties or fastenings are required. The color and style need to blend with the uniform.
Preschool Uniforms
- Preschool students may elect to wear uniforms if they choose, otherwise clothes appropriate for weather and play should be worn
Physical Education
- Shoes with non-marking soles are required for PE for all classes K-8
- Grades 4-8: White, blue, or gray t-shirts (no logos), or ICRS spirit wear shirts. White, blue, gray, or black shorts (no more than two inches above the knee) or sweatpants. At all times students are expected to dress modestly. Yoga pants may not be worn for PE.
Spirit Wear
- ICRS Spirit Wear may be worn instead of uniform shirts, sweatshirts, sweaters, or vest on Tuesdays or other designated days

Volunteer & Fundraising
Family Commitment: Fundraising, Volunteer Hours & Auction
At ICRS, we value the partnership between school and families in supporting our mission and strengthening our community. Family participation through fundraising, volunteer service, and school events plays an important role in helping provide exceptional opportunities for our students.
Fundraising Commitment
Families with children in grades K–8 are asked to participate in annual fundraising efforts to support the school. Each family has a yearly fundraising commitment of $500 in profit. This obligation may be fulfilled through the following opportunities:
- SCRIP Gift Cards – A percentage of each gift card purchase is donated to ICRS, with profit varying by retailer.
- Christmas Wreath Sales – Families earn 40% profit toward their fundraising commitment.
- Jog-A-Thon – 100% of pledges raised are applied directly toward the family fundraising obligation.
Families who raise more than $500 in fundraising profit may receive additional benefits. Half of the funds raised above the $500 requirement will be credited toward the following year’s tuition, while the remaining half will support families in need through the ICRS Tuition Assistance Fund.
Please note:
- Due to IRS regulations, tuition credits may not exceed $600 per family annually.
- This tuition credit policy does not apply if the youngest child in the family is graduating.
- Families whose oldest child is enrolled in preschool may participate in fundraising, but are not eligible for tuition credit under this policy.
Families who choose not to participate in fundraising may elect to pay the fundraising obligation monthly along with tuition payments. Any unfulfilled fundraising balance will be billed to Finalsite accounts at the end of May. Fundraising progress statements are shared at the end of each trimester.
Volunteer Hours Commitment
Family involvement is an important part of the ICRS community.
- 40 volunteer hours per year are required for families with children in grades K–8.
- 20 volunteer hours per year are required for single-parent households.
- Preschool families are not required to complete volunteer hours.
Additional volunteer guidelines:
- Up to 10 volunteer hours per school year may be fulfilled through service at a family’s home Catholic parish.
- Families participating in overnight field trips may earn 5 volunteer hours per day.
- Families are responsible for tracking and logging volunteer hours through the designated school website/app.
Families who choose not to complete volunteer hours may opt to pay monthly with tuition payments. Any remaining hours will be billed to their Finalsite account at a rate of $30 per unfulfilled hour at the end of May.
Volunteer and fundraising summaries are sent home at the end of each trimester to help families monitor progress throughout the school year.
Auction
The ICRS Annual Auction is one of our most important fundraising events and a treasured tradition within our school community. Families are encouraged to support the auction through attendance, volunteering, donations, sponsorships, and participation in event-related activities. Funds raised through the auction directly support school programs, student enrichment opportunities, and the continued growth of ICRS.
As part of each family’s commitment to supporting this important event, families are required to either contribute an auction item or service valued at $200 or more or provide a $200 cash contribution. Cash contributions may be used by the Auction Committee to purchase items, experiences, or packages that help strengthen the success of the event.
